Meet a developer - Guava7

The iOS platform from Apple is a wondrous platform and it has created an ecosystem of developers and hardware that would have never existed. Today continuing our series of meet a developer, we are in conversations with Guava7, an Vietnam based company.

so, here we are with Phong from Guava7

What is your role at the Guava7?
I'm one of the co-founders. My main roles is business and production. Sometimes I also write code (my background was technical :)

What is the size of the Guava7 and would you want to introduce others?

The other co-founder is Duy, our tech master.
Besides that, we have talented staff in charge of game design, art, and coding.
Currently we have 5 people in total.

What is the Idea of the Guava7's business (self publishing, services, etc)?

Our main mission is to create fun casual games for everyone and kids (self publishing)
Besides that, I always look for any opportunity that can grow the business.

What platforms do you develop for?

Currently we focus on iOS. But I plan to support other platforms soon (Android, Windows 8,...)

How many Apps have you/Guava7 published?

Till now we have publised 5 game titles.

What was your flagship app that you think brought you/Guava7 to the limelight?

Limelight? Not yet :)
But the product that makes me most proud of is our 1st one, Number Rush.

Which is your favourite app amongst all your apps?

Number Rush.

What is your favourite app that you have not created?

Talking about the gaming world:
PC: Counter Strike, Starcraft
iOS: Game Dev Story, Plants vs. Zombies

What is your favourite device (Computer & Phone) and why?

My current iPad3. It goes with me anywhere, anytime :)

Can you tell us a little bit more about Number Rush?

Number Rush is a simple yet fun and entertained game in which you have to count consecutive numbers placed randomly on the screen, as fast as possible.
The advanced mode includes moving numbers, counting only odd or even ones, and many other crazy ideas.
There's also VS mode for 2 players to play together on the same device.

What was the inspiration for the app?

The idea was originated from a traditional paper & pen game that people used to play during their childhood and school days.

What are the main categories your apps are in? (Games/Utilities/etc)

Games.

Do you advertise for any apps you have published? What was the outcome/results?

As a small and young studio, we don't have budget for paid services.
What I've done is through self-promotion via social networks and gaming forums.
Put aside quality, I must say that visibility is very important, from my own experience.

Do you believe in the giving back code to the society to help aid development

Sure, I do!

Do you have any GitHub repositories or OpenSource or code repos?

Here is Guava7 GitHub repo: https://github.com/guava7

What is your method of commute? (Bike, Train, Car, Walk)

Bike.

So what is next in the pipeline for Guava7?

2 more games waiting to be developed. That's the line-up until the end of the year.

Any thing that you would like to share with the readers?

Besides Number Rush, we have a fun endless runner game named Evolush: Evolution Journey, and a cute and challenging puzzle game named Cerberus: The Puppy.
We hope you'll like them too :)
